Cabin Fever
So this is the 3rd day off from school and school is closed again for tomorrow. I have been held up at home all week because I took Monday off as well since we just moved and I wanted an extra day to get everything squared away. (Pics to come of the new place) What a waste of PTO! If only I knew that school would be closed for the rest of the week, I wouldn't have requested Monday off. Anyway the other night we went out and braved the icy roads for fajita Wednesday and Jon's birthday dinner. It was a white knuckle ride but I drove of course because I like to be in control. I was pretty impressed with myself and Jon said I did a great job. After driving on the icy roads, I feel like I am better at that than walking on the icy sidewalk. Everyday walking the dog I have slipped and nearly come to my rear but today I ate it. Slipped and fell right on the not so cushioned cushion with really a lot of cushion. Who am I kidding? Later, Jon called and said they shut the office down early and I said I want to go out and play at the school across the street because they have a few slopes. Yippee! Two hours later due to bus shortage and road conditions Jon finally made it home. Luckily the school had the lights on. Below are some pics from the last couple of days and two videos of what happens when they let teachers out of school for too long. Enjoy!

Happy New Year 2011
Hope every one's year is off to a great start.
We just wanted to update everyone on how things have been going since our last official posting (Rangers Post doesn't count). I did not realize how long its been. Resolution for 2011 try to post more often. After many months of trying to find a teaching job, Tina was offered a position as a Computer Aide in the Frisco school district. We were super excited about her getting a job and possibly settling down and buying a house. Then in November, I was laid off due to workload. It always seems that just when things are going good for us, something happens to slow us down.
We went down to Houston during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to spend time with family. It is always great to hang out and see family.
2011 has been great for us so far. I started a new job this past Monday and I am very excited about this new opportunity. We are finally moving into a bigger apartment at the end of this month so that we can have more space. We will be going from a one bedroom/efficiency that we have "temporarily" lived in for 2 years to a two bedroom with an actual place to put a table and chairs to eat at. Tina is very excited about getting a room just for sewing and embroidery.
As we sit here typing this post, we are currently getting our first snow of 2011. We are forecasted to get up to four inches. Last February we got spoiled when we got 12 inches of snow, but we will take snow when we can. Scooter loves the snow too.
Here are a couple of pictures of what we have been up to:
Painting class was so much fun. I think we are pretty good?
Tina's computer lab
The apple orchard was pretty cool.
Had a good time at the TX state Fair
Went out looking at Christmas lights and found the Griswold's.
Merry Christmas! Yes those are plastic yard chairs indoors and we are using Fall plastic tablecloths. Thats how we roll.
